Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Honokaa FC's Lionel French started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to South Tucson getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Giuseppe Myrick hit a great ball. Honokaa FC's Rigoberto Boggs couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 4th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for South Tucson. Everett Crabtree showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lionel French in the 5th minute of the match. Everett Crabtree made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lionel French in the 7th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Hooper got free with Everett Crabtree in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of South Tucson booed when Honokaa FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron Steele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rodney Hyde was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. South Tucson's Everett Crabtree proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save South Tucson from getting a goal against them. Lionel French's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Everett Crabtree skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Honokaa FC's Jaime Hooper got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jaime Hooper blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Everett Crabtree having to make a save. Lionel French fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Everett Crabtree having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lionel French in the 24th minute of play forced South Tucson's goalkeeper Everett Crabtree to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 30 in the game by Jaime Hooper from a close distance when the talented Everett Crabtree managed to make a qualified save. South Tucson's players were relieved. Steve Jernigan came out of the goal in the 42nd minute to try and stop a shot by South Tucson's Vicente Cherry. But to his dismay, Vicente Cherry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vicente Cherry made a kick off. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Roger Kirkpatrick put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Honokaa FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of South Tucson:s goal. Steve Jernigan went to the wrong direction when Rodney Hyde was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Steve Jernigan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vicente Cherry in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, South Tucson's Reed Armstrong got a free kick in the 69th minute. Vicente Cherry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Jernigan having to interfere. Donald Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Jernigan having to interfere. When Leland Lind fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored South Tucson's protests and gave Leland Lind a yellow card for diving instead. Donald Gutierrez in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Steve Jernigan, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Jaime Hooper managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honokaa FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Hooper was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Everett Crabtree breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
