Noel Jacobs kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Vance Barbour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Gordon having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Libertyville FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bart Ivey to maneuver through the defense. Vance Barbour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Libertyville FC's Marc Gordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jefferson Coyle in the 16th minute of play. If Vance Barbour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute, Jefferson Coyle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Port Lavaca AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Bart Ivey hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute of the match Roscoe Perkins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Geoffrey Kidd showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Bart Ivey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geoffrey Kidd was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. An unexpected shot in the 30th minute by Bart Ivey got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Geoffrey Kidd made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Florian Parson sent off a good shot on target. Florian Parson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Geoffrey Kidd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vance Barbour fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Gordon having to interfere. Marc Gordon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Coyle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jim Culver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Port Lavaca AFC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Zackary Goodwin hit a great ball. Noel Jacobs missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 73 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Geoffrey Kidd right hand side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florian Parson in the 75th minute of play forced Port Lavaca AFC's goalkeeper Geoffrey Kidd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geoffrey Kidd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Ivey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Jefferson Coyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Libertyville FC defense, Vance Barbour kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marc Gordon. The Libertyville FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marc Gordon should have stopped the shot. Roscoe Perkins kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Libertyville FC's Bart Ivey got a free kick in the 90th minute. Libertyville FC's Marc Gordon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Libertyville FC from getting a goal against them. Bart Ivey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
