After a rather tough play, Mishawaka FC's Tristan Reyna got a free kick in the 5th minute. After having played for 7 minutes, Clayton Byrne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mishawaka FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clayton Byrne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 9 played minutes Mishawaka FC got a freekick which was hit by Corey Christopher. In the 12th minute, Bart Ivey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gordon Short. The goal made the score 1-0. Willie Madrid hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Virgilio Askew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Gordon having to interfere. Clayton Byrne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Marc Gordon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Virgilio Askew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Libertyville FC's Marc Gordon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Byrne in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Libertyville FC's Jim Culver got a free kick in the 27th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Virgilio Askew managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mishawaka FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Virgilio Askew was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marc Gordon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marc Gordon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgilio Askew's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. In the 35th minute Bart Ivey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Short saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Bart Ivey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Libertyville FC's Willie Madrid got a free kick in the 48th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Bart Ivey made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bart Ivey in the 55th minute of play forced Mishawaka FC's goalkeeper Gordon Short to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordon Short made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bart Ivey in the 57th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bart Ivey in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gordon Short prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Virgilio Askew who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Marc Gordon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 72 minutes into the game, one of Libertyville FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marc Gordon had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Tristan Reyna's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gordon Short took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Ivey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Florian Parson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 80 minutes into the match, Mishawaka FC's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Parson came free, but Gordon Short reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Virgilio Askew got free with Marc Gordon in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Virgilio Askew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marc Gordon having to interfere. Bart Ivey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Gordon Short tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mishawaka FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
