Sung Sousa hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Griffin FC's Grant Pruitt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brian Zeigler in the 20th minute of play. Calvin Conklin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 22nd playminute. 26 minutes into the match, South Augusta AFC's goalkeeper Nick Frazier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Calvin Conklin. Vaughn Cornelius recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Alan Bartley came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Griffin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Bartley couldn't finish the play. Alan Bartley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nick Frazier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stan Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Grant Pruitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stan Eckert to strike the kick off in the second half. Stan Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Grant Pruitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stan Eckert in the 55th minute of the match. If Alan Bartley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vaughn Cornelius might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Grant Pruitt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vaughn Cornelius ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alan Bartley in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nick Frazier saved South Augusta AFC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Griffin FC's J.C. Bowling got a free kick in the 90th minute. Francisco McNamara, 94 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Griffin FC had won after a very even match.
