When Rudolf Laird fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Douglass Hills AFC's protests and gave Rudolf Laird a yellow card for diving instead. Douglass Hills AFC's Benedict Pate got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Douglass Hills AFC booed when Viejos Son Los Trapos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfonso Skinner didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute Steven Buckner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendon Wills saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robbie Carlos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Brendon Wills showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Buckner, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Steven Buckner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendon Wills having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Douglass Hills AFC's goalkeeper Angelo Madrid had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jed Golden. Ervin Honeycutt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Angelo Madrid having to make a save. Steven Buckner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Douglass Hills AFC's goalkeeper Angelo Madrid, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Douglass Hills AFC!

Ervin Honeycutt ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Steven Buckner could shoot a difficult shot in the 80th minute, which Brendon Wills however easily saved by the left post. Jed Golden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ervin Honeycutt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Viejos Son Los Trapos had won after a very even match.
