Thad Seay dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Alistair Burgess kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Thad Seay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mario Alford in the 14th minute of play. Claudio Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Wilkinson Heights's Kris Rosen got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mario Alford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario Alford in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thad Seay saved Roanoke from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Mario Alford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wilkinson Heights's supporters rose to their feet, but Mario Alford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thad Seay breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kris Rosen struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Thad Seay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wilkinson Heights. In the 26thth minute of the game Mario Alford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Roanoke's Thad Seay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thad Seay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Alford in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alistair Burgess in the 44th minute of play forced Wilkinson Heights's goalkeeper Brad Burrows to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute of the match John Stacy sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brad Burrows skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 56 played minutes Roanoke got a freekick which was hit by Hugh Weeks. When Mario Alford came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Wilkinson Heights fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Alford couldn't finish the play. Alistair Burgess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the game, Josh Estes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wilkinson Heights's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Roanoke the free kick. Josh Estes kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Thad Seay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Rosen in the 78th minute. If Ron Craven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. Donald Dow could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Thad Seay made a huge save. If Ron Craven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alex Bowling's late challenge caught a Wilkinson Heights's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Bowling helped the player get up and apologised. 92 minutes into the game, one of Roanoke:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Wilkinson Heights were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
