Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Sandy Currie started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Century booed when Union City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Cornelius didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute of the match Emmitt Bledsoe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Everett Lyles skillfully saved the ball. In the 8thth minute of the game Sandy Currie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Century's Johnson Ware was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 10 minutes of play, Century's Randolph Kern made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Everett Lyles was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chase Sparks took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Johnson Ware. Johnson Ware dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 25 minutes, Jarvis Seay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Union City and the Century players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Union City's Jarvis Seay got a free kick in the 25th minute. Johnson Ware made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chase Sparks in the 28th minute. In the 33rd minute, Aldo Watson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 35 played minutes, Century's Emmitt Bledsoe shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Everett Lyles came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Century reached it. With an all-out effort, Union City's Johnson Ware threw himself towards the right post 42 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sandy Currie, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sandy Currie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Randolph Kern was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Century getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Kevin Barnhart hit a great ball. Union City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Randolph Kern scored to the left of an out of position Everett Lyles, making the score, 1-2. After having played for 70 minutes, Sandy Currie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Union City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandy Currie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chase Sparks hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Chase Sparks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aldo Watson came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Everett Lyles could save by the left post. Union City's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Randolph Kern 94 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-3. The Century players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
