Everett Lyles made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cedric Parson in the 43rd minute. Union City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 45th minute, when Stewart Abrams scored to the left of an out of position Everett Lyles, making the score, 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stewart Abrams was the one to do the kick off. Mello FC's Joshua Rice played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sandy Currie in the 51st minute of play. When Mello FC's Cedric Parson in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Union City's goalie prevented a goal. Sandy Currie had several of the Mello FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 64 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Joshua Rice as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 69 played minutes Union City got a freekick which was hit by Rosario Blankenship. 71 minutes into the game, Cedric Parson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Everett Lyles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sandy Currie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joshua Rice having to make a save.
