A collision led to Union City getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Roland Cornelius hit a great ball. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 3rd minute, but Everett Lyles got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Union City hanging dry this time. Union City's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Mark Zaragoza 3 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Everett Lyles made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Mark Zaragoza sent off a good shot on target. When Union City's Sandy Currie in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carmel's goalie prevented a goal. Sandy Currie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rudolph Guzman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandy Currie, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Union City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Merle Foster in the 20th minute. Roland Cornelius charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roland Cornelius the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 21st match minute, Union City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roland Cornelius to maneuver through the defense. In the 29th minute, Porter Gonzalez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cristobal Shoemaker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Sandy Currie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolph Guzman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 40 minutes into the match, Sandy Currie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rudolph Guzman. Carmel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sandy Currie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Union City's Sandy Currie got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Union City booed when Carmel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Wooten didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thurman Clifton to make the kick off. Mark Zaragoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sandy Currie spun around in front of the goal 56 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Carmel's goal. In the 61stth minute of the game Sandy Currie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carmel's Rudolph Guzman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sandy Curries short, quick shot in the 63rdth minute got Rudolph Guzman to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 66th minute, Union City's Sandy Currie ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rudolph Guzman. Rudolph Guzman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Everett Lyles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carmel were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Union City for a fine match.
