After a rather tough play, Sagamore AFC's Leon Childs got a free kick in the 2nd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Sagamore AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Darell Biggs came free, but Joey Bauer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sagamore AFC's Jacques Gann got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Darnell Vargas hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Joey Bauer was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Darell Biggs capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Darell Biggs really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 33rd minute Darell Biggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joey Bauer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacques Gann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darnell Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 46th minute Jacques Gann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kory Matlock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chuck Hunt kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Joey Bauer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darell Biggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 64 minutes into the game, Douglass Brunson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sagamore AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Heroes From Yerevan the free kick. Dale Lord fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kory Matlock having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Heroes From Yerevan's goalkeeper Kory Matlock had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Douglass Brunson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacques Gann in the 78th minute of play forced Heroes From Yerevan's goalkeeper Kory Matlock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Heroes From Yerevan's zone, Jacques Gann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kory Matlock came out of the goal and Jacques Gann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 86 minutes, Darnell Vargas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sagamore AFC and the Heroes From Yerevan players grew even worse after the yellow card. Darnell Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. When Jacques Gann came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sagamore AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacques Gann couldn't finish the play. Chuck Hunt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kory Matlock having to make a save. Jacques Gann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Kory Matlock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
