Rigoberto Adams made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Tory McCord sent off a good shot on target. Terence Buckley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirby Naylor having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, West Puente Valley's Terrence Epps nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rigoberto Adams made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. West Puente Valley's Kirby Naylor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jay Kenney in the 46th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tory McCord stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
