Hector Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rex Califf in the 7th minute of the match. Hector Soto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rex Califf in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Todd Blanco got free with Monte Beatty in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sydney Dougherty might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hector Soto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sydney Dougherty ran back to his position shaking his head. After 13 played minutes Jerseyville got a freekick which was hit by Garth Guillory. Rex Califf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Hector Soto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rex Califf in the 29th minute of play forced Jerseyville's goalkeeper Hector Soto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Jerseyville's goal looked a bit too open when Rex Califf came free, but Hector Soto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hector Soto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sydney Dougherty went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Rex Califf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Soto having to interfere. When Sydney Dougherty came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the charlotte fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sydney Dougherty couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Rex Califf managed to get in a good position for a shot. charlotte fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Rex Califf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hector Soto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 44th minute, Garth Guillory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute charlotte fc were awarded a corner. Bill Siegel went to the cornerflag to take it. Hector Soto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney Dougherty, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

If Sydney Dougherty had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in charlotte fc's zone, Derrick Whitmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Monte Beatty came out of the goal and Derrick Whitmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Garth Guillory during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Monte Beatty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Derrick Whitmore, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Hector Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Dougherty in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Sydney Dougherty reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hector Soto. The goal made the score 0-5. Rex Califf's late challenge caught a Jerseyville's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rex Califf helped the player get up and apologised. After 81 played minutes charlotte fc got a freekick which was hit by Rex Califf. If Rex Califf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sydney Dougherty in the 89th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded charlotte fc left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Jerseyville.
