The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hector Soto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sylvester Childers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Emilio Potter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Garth Guillory hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Sylvester Childers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hector Soto was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 34th match minute, Jerseyville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blaine Gillespie to maneuver through the defense. After 35 minutes, Sylvester Childers made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Jerseyville's Hector Soto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Emilio Potter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hector Soto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Sylvester Childers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Soto having to interfere. Sylvester Childers took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hector Soto. Hector Soto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The wind increased when Derrick Whitmore made the kick off in the second half. Emilio Potter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Soto having to interfere. Hector Soto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sylvester Childers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 63 minute of play. Hector Soto acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 66th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Joey Foreman. The supporters of Carroll FC booed when Jerseyville was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. D.J. Eastman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th match minute, Jerseyville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darius Camp to maneuver through the defense. Wilton Lugo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 70th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jerseyville's Hector Soto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sylvester Childers in the 71st minute of play. In the 78th minute, Junior Madrid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 80 minutes into the game, Emilio Potter was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carroll FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jerseyville the free kick. In the 95thth minute of the game Sylvester Childers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Jerseyville's Hector Soto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Emilio Potter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carroll FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
