Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Maumee FC's Keith Cash started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Keith Cash managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maumee FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith Cash was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute, Rey Ventura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Freddie Brewster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rocco Osborn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. University Place FC's Jim Lassiter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bryant Fay in the 16th minute of play. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind University Place FC's goalkeeper Jim Lassiter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 19th minute of the match Maumee FC got a corner. University Place FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Keith Cash ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Maumee FC's Keith Cash to fire away a dangerous shot which Jim Lassiter despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Keith Cash managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maumee FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith Cash was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddie Brewster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rocco Osborn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Presley kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Winford Patrick's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rocco Osborn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 31 played minutes Maumee FC got a freekick which was hit by Renaldo McMahon. If Roger Presley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maumee FC's goalkeeper Rocco Osborn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Freddie Brewster sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freddie Brewster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rocco Osborn having to interfere. After 47 played minutes, Maumee FC's Ari Townsend shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jim Lassiter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maumee FC reached it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Freddie Brewster made the kick off in the second half. Jim Lassiter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Keith Cash's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Jim Lassiter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Keith Cash, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Keith Cash had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 61 minutes into the match, Winford Patrick notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Maumee FC's Rocco Osborn. Rocco Osborn was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 64 played minutes University Place FC got a freekick which was hit by Winford Patrick. Keith Cash received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jim Lassiter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Lassiter showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keith Cash, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Tod Sapp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Maumee FC's Keith Cash got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Keith Cash fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Lassiter having to interfere. Rocco Osborn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Winford Patrick in the 81st minute of the match. Rocco Osborn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Winford Patrick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Winford Patrick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rocco Osborn having to interfere. Rocco Osborn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Brewster in the 94th minute of play. The University Place FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
