The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th play minute Lamar Dodge came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Quincy Carlos. 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Elvis Fontenot had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ken Ibarra. La Scaloneta FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elvis Fontenot was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Ken Ibarra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvis Fontenot, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. In the 14th match minute, Bernalillo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cary Baggett to maneuver through the defense. Zackary Bartlett took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ken Ibarra. Ken Ibarra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 20th minute, Cary Baggett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ken Ibarra was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. 30 minutes into the match, Bernalillo's goal looked a bit too open when Lamar Dodge came free, but Quincy Carlos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Teddy Crews struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Ken Ibarra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bernalillo. In the 36th minute, Lamar Dodge got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dominic Tapia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dominic Tapia came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the La Scaloneta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominic Tapia couldn't finish the play. The La Scaloneta FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bernalillo were winning 1-3.
