Wilford Lowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winford Chandler having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Jim Thorpe United's Jeffrey Myers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilton Cortez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. If Sherwood Malloy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeffrey Myers struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Wilton Cortez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jim Thorpe United. Trent Moyer charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Trent Moyer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Trent Moyer kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Winford Chandler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilford Lowe, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After having played for 43 minutes, Sherwood Malloy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Francisco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sherwood Malloy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48th match minute, Jim Thorpe United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Fairchild to maneuver through the defense. In the 49th minute of the match Dave Bermudez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Winford Chandler skillfully saved the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Omar Novak commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 54th minute, one of Jim Thorpe United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Jim Thorpe United. After a defensive mix-up in Jim Thorpe United's zone, Sherwood Malloy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Winford Chandler came out of the goal and Sherwood Malloy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Jim Thorpe United getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Spencer Romo hit a great ball. Wilford Lowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winford Chandler having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sherwood Malloy in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Winford Chandler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in San Francisco's zone, Jeffrey Myers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilton Cortez came out of the goal and Jeffrey Myers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wilford Lowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Winford Chandler made a huge save. In the 80th minute, Stewart Rios hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wilford Lowe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Winford Chandler having to interfere. When San Francisco's Sherwood Malloy in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jim Thorpe United's goalie prevented a goal. Jim Thorpe United's Winford Chandler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sherwood Malloy in the 90th minute of play. Winford Chandler came out of the goal and Sherwood Malloy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pierre Fritz's late challenge caught a San Francisco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierre Fritz helped the player get up and apologised. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sherwood Malloy in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Winford Chandler saved Jim Thorpe United from getting behind. Jim Thorpe United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
