Ervin Lemons didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bonita. When Cliff Myers fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Indiana United FC's protests and gave Cliff Myers a yellow card for diving instead. After 7 played minutes Indiana United FC got a freekick which was hit by Cliff Myers. Vicente Berg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ervin Lemons having to interfere. Andreas Neely kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. DeAndre Scott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebio Bliss in the 18th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Thomson in the 19th minute of play forced Indiana United FC's goalkeeper Ervin Lemons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Indiana United FC defense, Boyce Thomson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ervin Lemons. The Indiana United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ervin Lemons should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boyce Thomson in the 26th minute of play forced Indiana United FC's goalkeeper Ervin Lemons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DeAndre Scott made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusebio Bliss in the 34th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Bonita's goal looked a bit too open when Andreas Neely came free, but DeAndre Scott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ervin Lemons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boyce Thomson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Johnson Sheldon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but DeAndre Scott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Bonita were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Johnson Sheldon to make the kick off. In the 51st match minute, Bonita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeremiah McClain to maneuver through the defense. Boyce Thomson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Jeremiah McClain was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bonita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Indiana United FC the free kick. After 70 played minutes Bonita got a freekick which was hit by Jeremiah McClain. 71 minutes into the match, Indiana United FC's Joaquin Ladd broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 73rd minute, Indiana United FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Boyce Thomson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Vito Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Bonita's Boyce Thomson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ervin Lemons narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Boyce Thomson got free with Ervin Lemons in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Boyce Thomson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Ervin Lemons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
