Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Merlin Babcock got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Kent Santana notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Westminster East's Lucas Bergman. Lucas Bergman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Merlin Babcock struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Ernest Nickerson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Westminster East. Kent Santana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Lucas Bergman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernest Nickerson made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Willard Hart sent off a good shot on target. With his leg Ernest Nickerson managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Westminster East's Willard Hart fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 17 played minutes, Westminster East's Alfonso Ackerman shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ernest Nickerson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Westminster East reached it. Merlin Babcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ernest Nickerson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Willard Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Merlin Babcock's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernest Nickerson was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The supporters of Westminster East booed when Saks was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flint Ratliff didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Willard Hart managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westminster East's supporters rose to their feet, but Willard Hart was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernest Nickerson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 32 minutes into the game, Willard Hart cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ernest Nickerson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 36thth minute of the game Kent Santana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Westminster East's Lucas Bergman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Merlin Babcock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Ernest Nickerson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernest Nickerson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Babcock in the 42nd minute of play. Willard Hart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The wind increased when Kent Santana made the kick off in the second half. If Willard Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Merlin Babcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willard Hart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Merlin Babcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Willard Hart's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernest Nickerson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Ernest Nickerson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willard Hart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Westminster East's zone, Jackson Nelson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucas Bergman came out of the goal and Jackson Nelson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ernest Nickerson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Merlin Babcock in the 78th minute of play. After 79 minutes, Elias Boyle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Westminster East and the Saks players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Saks booed when Westminster East was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Boyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernest Nickerson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Merlin Babcock went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. When Westminster East's Merlin Babcock in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saks's goalie prevented a goal. Merlin Babcock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Saks's Jackson Nelson got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Westminster East getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Markus Bass hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 99 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Kent Santana sped through Westminster East's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lucas Bergman. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Westminster East had played much better football throughout.
