Saul Knapp was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 8 minutes, Jimmy Hartman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Paltz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimmy Hartman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilfredo Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moises Duarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Quintin Conroy's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. Ron Croft charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ron Croft the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Quintin Conroy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Johnnie Creech received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Moises Duarte came out and tried to block the shot, but Johnnie Creech slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Quintin Conroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moises Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jess Melton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfredo Romero in the 31st minute of the match. Jimmy Hartman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jess Melton having to interfere. Jimmy Hartman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moises Duarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quintin Conroy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Wilfredo Romero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ron Croft in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jess Melton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Wilfredo Romero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jess Melton was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Quintin Conroy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Quintin Conroy to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Wilfredo Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Paltz's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilfredo Romero was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jess Melton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 54th match minute, New Paltz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Croft to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th match minute, New Paltz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Grier to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the New Paltz defense, Johnnie Creech kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moises Duarte. The New Paltz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moises Duarte should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Rebels F.C. booed when New Paltz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Myles Booth didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Quintin Conroy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Moises Duarte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnnie Creech in the 67th minute of the match. Quintin Conroy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Rebels F.C. booed when New Paltz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stephen Grier didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quintin Conroy in the 87th minute of play forced New Paltz's goalkeeper Moises Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Quintin Conroy in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Moises Duarte saved New Paltz from getting behind. Moises Duarte didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Johnnie Creech went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Otis Wiley charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Otis Wiley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 95th match minute, Rebels F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otis Wiley to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Rebels F.C. had won after a very even match.
