Casey Carroll fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Woodrow Patrick having to interfere. After 30th play minutes Gregory Short shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Ervin Mayes and just under the crossbar into goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregory Short in the 33rd minute of play forced Dania's goalkeeper Ervin Mayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gregory Short sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 36 minutes into the match, Casey Carroll notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Energy FC's Woodrow Patrick. Woodrow Patrick was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 44 minutes into the match, Energy FC's goal looked a bit too open when Casey Carroll came free, but Woodrow Patrick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Woodrow Patrick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Jamison in the 45th minute of play. After 47 minutes Energy FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jerold Ware who took care of the corner kick. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregory Short made a kick off. Gregory Short received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ervin Mayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, David McKinnon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ervin Mayes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. In the 67th minute, Energy FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ray Jamison fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dania's Oliver Jefferson suffered a concussion after 68 minutes and had to leave the field. 68 minutes into the game, Dario Steele was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Energy FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dania the free kick. The supporters of Dania booed when Energy FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dario Steele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ervin Mayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David McKinnon in the 70th minute of the match. Woodrow Patrick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Casey Carroll, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregory Short sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David McKinnon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ervin Mayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Dania's Edmund Bowen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Woodrow Patrick narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Casey Carroll hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sanford Carroll fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Energy FC's protests and gave Sanford Carroll a yellow card for diving instead. Woodrow Patrick went to the wrong direction when Jerold Ware was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 99 minutes of play Energy FC's Sanford Carroll was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 99 played minutes Energy FC got a freekick which was hit by Sanford Carroll. Dania's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
