Joe Atwood charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joe Atwood the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joe Atwood hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Trinidad Phillips was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Joe Atwood capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joe Atwood really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 16th minute Joe Atwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trinidad Phillips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Will Pruitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Edgewater SC's zone, Will Pruitt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Owen Crain came out of the goal and Will Pruitt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 29th minute, Lamar Weaver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Edgewater SC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Jason Eubanks hit a great ball. If Terry Bowman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Will Pruitt made the kick off in the second half. In the 57th match minute, Edgewater SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lamar Weaver to maneuver through the defense. After 59 played minutes Tequesta FC got a freekick which was hit by Terry Bowman. In the 64th minute Joe Atwood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trinidad Phillips saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trinidad Phillips took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Atwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joe Atwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trinidad Phillips having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Will Pruitt got free with Owen Crain in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Tequesta FC booed when Edgewater SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronny Velazquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trinidad Phillips showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joe Atwood, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Terry Bowman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Owen Crain having to interfere. The Edgewater SC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
