Brady King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Crowe having to interfere. Brady King could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Vern Crowe made a huge save. If Bill Orozco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 17 minutes, Collin Clinton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mobridge AFC and the Carlyle players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 played minutes Mobridge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Collin Clinton. In the 18th match minute, Carlyle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodney Keane to maneuver through the defense. Rodney Keane received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Casper West tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casper West showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Will Frederick in the 24th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Carlyle's Bill Orozco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casper West narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Edmund Bernstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edmund Bernstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Crowe having to interfere. Brady King recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 39th minute, Steve Mills hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rob Combs fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carlyle's protests and gave Rob Combs a yellow card for diving instead. Rob Combs hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Edmund Bernstein made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Brady King shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vern Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mobridge AFC booed when Carlyle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dallas Cangiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Brady King managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mobridge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brady King was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 56 minutes, Dallas Cangiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlyle and the Mobridge AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 57th minute, Cason McNair sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Carlyle's Vern Crowe didn't even have to move. Casper West made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Bill Orozco sent off a good shot on target. In the 61st match minute, Mobridge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milan Coffman to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Mobridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dallas Cangiano came free, but Casper West reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After recieving a nice pass, Mobridge AFC's Cason McNair tried to score from far away in the 70th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 71 minutes of play, Mobridge AFC's Brady King made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vern Crowe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Casper West took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Will Frederick, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Brady King came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Mobridge AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brady King couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Mobridge AFC booed when Carlyle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steve Mills didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mobridge AFC's Cason McNair got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 96th minute of the match Dallas Cangiano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dallas Cangiano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game.
