Gregory Neal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Reeves in the 4th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Rickie Love left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Holmes Beach fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Reyes Huff took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Ediberto Messias to make any attempt to save it. Ian Cook kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Gregory Neal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickie Love, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 27 played minutes Holmes Beach got a freekick which was hit by Stacy Gold. In the 30th minute Rickie Love shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Neal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Billy Reeves's late challenge caught a Newark Athletic Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Billy Reeves helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Holmes Beach getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Billy Reeves hit a great ball. Ediberto Messias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reyes Huff in the 37th minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Holmes Beach was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dennis Spivey to maneuver through the defense. Ediberto Messias made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reyes Huff in the 47th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reyes Huff made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Holmes Beach's Stacy Gold got a free kick in the 52nd minute. When Stacy Gold fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Holmes Beach's protests and gave Stacy Gold a yellow card for diving instead. Stacy Gold hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Brant Zuniga kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reyes Huff in the 80th minute of play forced Holmes Beach's goalkeeper Ediberto Messias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Brant Zuniga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Holmes Beach's Dennis Spivey got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, Newark Athletic Club's Sidney Schmidt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ediberto Messias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Stacy Gold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Holmes Beach players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Newark Athletic Club from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
