Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ken Bradshaw took the kick off in the first half of the match. Tim Holman might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paolo Walcott. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tim Holman ran back to his position shaking his head. Nalini Moreau took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Bradshaw, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 11 played minutes McBean got a freekick which was hit by José Rougier. McBean's Nalini Moreau proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save McBean from getting a goal against them. Dwight Daaga struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Paolo Walcott didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for McBean. When Dwight Daaga, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 16 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Paolo Walcott was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Dwight Daaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bertie Camps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nalini Moreau having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Tim Holman managed to get in a good position for a shot. McBean's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Holman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paolo Walcott breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kernaham's Paolo Walcott played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dwight Daaga in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Dwight Daaga made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Kernaham's Paolo Walcott got control of the ball when Tim Holman tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 55 played minutes, Kernaham's Jack Dookeran shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nalini Moreau came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Kernaham reached it. After 56 played minutes McBean got a freekick which was hit by Charles de Souza. McBean's Nalini Moreau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ken Bradshaw in the 57th minute of play. Bertie Camps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Nalini Moreau tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ken Bradshaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, McBean's Don Thomas got a free kick in the 61st minute. After 62 played minutes McBean got a freekick which was hit by Dwight Daaga. In the 66th minute Dwight Daaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paolo Walcott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 71 played minutes, McBean's José Rougier shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paolo Walcott came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in McBean reached it. Paolo Walcott had in the 79thth minute some difficulties stopping José Rougier's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 80 played minutes McBean got a freekick which was hit by Beryl Lion. When Tim Holman came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the McBean fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim Holman couldn't finish the play. A collision led to McBean getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Stanford Bradley hit a great ball. Ken Bradshaw was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 95th match minute, Kernaham was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Dookeran to maneuver through the defense. Bertie Camps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kernaham were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of McBean for a fine match.
