The supporters of Independencia CF booed when Estudiantes de Bonao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Cuéllar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Espinoza stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abel Santana's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. After having played for 9 minutes, Abel Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de Bonao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Santana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 13th minute Narciso Gartzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th match minute, Independencia CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Gartzi to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Lucio Roig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sammy Bermúdez hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute of the match Walter Córdova sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alfonso Espinoza skillfully saved the ball. Baltasar Nava fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfonso Espinoza having to interfere. When Jacinto Bustos came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Independencia CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Bustos couldn't finish the play. Bernard Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Narciso Gartzi in the 46th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Abel Santana made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Estudiantes de Bonao got a corner. Independencia CF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Walter Córdova ran over to the corner to take the kick. Estudiantes de Bonao's Walter Córdova was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alfonso Espinoza in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a defensive mix-up in Independencia CF's zone, Abel Santana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfonso Espinoza came out of the goal and Abel Santana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Estudiantes de Bonao booed when Independencia CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Bustos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Independencia CF's Amadeo Frederik dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. When Amadeo Frederik came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Independencia CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeo Frederik couldn't finish the play. Bernard Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Peguero in the 70th minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Abel Santana left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Estudiantes de Bonao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 90 played minutes Estudiantes de Bonao got a freekick which was hit by Matias Cuéllar. Narciso Gartzi charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Narciso Gartzi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
