After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Mustapha Labi managed to get in a good position for a shot. McKinleyville's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustapha Labi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. El Raï breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lakhdar Aribi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Mustapha Labi managed to get in a good position for a shot. McKinleyville's supporters rose to their feet, but Mustapha Labi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. El Raï breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abdelnacer Mezair to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Des Plaines FC defense, Mustapha Labi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of El Raï. The Des Plaines FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that El Raï should have stopped the shot. In the 60th match minute, Des Plaines FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Djamel Fanon to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lili Toumi in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg El Raï saved Des Plaines FC from getting behind. In the 93rd minute Fathi Amsallem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilles Kerbouche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. McKinleyville's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
