Yazid Ibrir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jussef Raho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Shaker Heights's goal looked a bit too open when Rachid Belhadj came free, but Jussef Raho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jussef Raho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rachid Belhadj, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Fodil Benbitour made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Slimane Boutella in the 28th minute of play. A collision led to FC Napoli getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Rachid Abbas hit a great ball. After 30 played minutes FC Napoli got a freekick which was hit by Yacine Bouziane. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khalida Horr in the 37th minute of play forced FC Napoli's goalkeeper Fodil Benbitour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jussef Raho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yazid Ibrir, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Yazid Ibrir scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jussef Raho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Shaker Heights's Abdel Aboulker got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 45 minutes into the match, Shaker Heights's Mohammed Ahmed Ben Meriem sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodil Benbitour narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Khalida Horr sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Slimane Boutella recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohammed Ahmed Ben Meriem in the 54th minute of play forced FC Napoli's goalkeeper Fodil Benbitour to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Belmadi Macias fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Napoli's protests and gave Belmadi Macias a yellow card for diving instead. Shaker Heights's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mohammed Ahmed Ben Meriem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 96th minute of the match Fadel Kaci Said sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jussef Raho skillfully saved the ball.
