The supporters of Caya booed when Chelis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernán Eastman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chelis's Haroldo Ibarbia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nemesio Unzaga in the 7th minute of play. Haroldo Ibarbia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Caszely went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpected shot in the 14th minute by Heliodoro Demanet got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Through an outstanding action, after 19 minutes, Juan Raúl Galindo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Heliodoro Demanet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Juan Raúl Galindo having to make a save. Juan Raúl Galindo made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Heliodoro Demanet sent off a good shot on target. Angelino Diena struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Juan Raúl Galindo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelis. A collision led to Caya getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juan Raúl Galindo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Caya were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelino Diena was the one to do the kick off. When Caya's Nemesio Unzaga in the 52nd minute got a chance for a shot 52nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chelis's goalie prevented a goal. Juan Raúl Galindo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heliodoro Demanet in the 56th minute of the match. Juan Raúl Galindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Angelino Diena in the 57th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Heliodoro Demanet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juan Raúl Galindo. Caya's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Heliodoro Demanet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Juan Raúl Galindo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heliodoro Demanet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Javier Marty kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Oscar Abarza hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Oscar Abarza got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Caya getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Oscar Abarza hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Caya's zone, Heliodoro Demanet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juan Raúl Galindo came out of the goal and Heliodoro Demanet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Chelis players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
