Rómulo Cordoba hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After having played for 25 minutes, Haroldo Almonacid managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Haroldo Almonacid was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Haroldo Almonacid's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eber Cumsille read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Eber Cumsille took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopoldo Ayarza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Enrique Villablanca kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Haroldo Almonacid came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Matau fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Haroldo Almonacid couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Pargua booed when Matau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Manuel Zúñiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Manuel Zúñiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Matau getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Haroldo Almonacid hit a great ball. Pargua's Domingo Finlay got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Matau's Demesio Canal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frances Viel in the 70th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Haroldo Almonacid got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Demesio Canal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Finlay in the 85th minute of the match. Eugenio Ruiz Tagle hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Pargua's Eber Cumsille got control of the ball when Leopoldo Ayarza tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 91st minute, Victorio Gredig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Matau defense, Frances Viel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Demesio Canal. The Matau fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Demesio Canal should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
