The supporters of Lincay booed when Contuy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Ramon Villamayor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfonso Gafo hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. If Pío Picarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jose Ramon Villamayor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabino Erwenne having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Lincay's zone, Evaristo Delano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabino Erwenne came out of the goal and Evaristo Delano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gabino Erwenne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Ramon Villamayor in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Uriel Chavarria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Evaristo Delano came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Contuy AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Delano couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Lincay getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Zacarías Raffo hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gregorio Sales in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rómulo Erazo saved Contuy AFC from getting behind. The supporters of Contuy AFC booed when Lincay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Malbrán didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Lincay defense, Evaristo Delano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabino Erwenne. The Lincay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabino Erwenne should have stopped the shot. Contuy AFC's Jose Ramon Villamayor got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Gregorio Sales took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Rómulo Erazo to make any attempt to save it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evaristo Delano made a kick off. Duardo Torrijo kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute of the match Rodrigo Farren sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rómulo Erazo skillfully saved the ball. After 63 played minutes Contuy AFC got a freekick which was hit by Jose Ramon Villamayor. Contuy AFC's Evaristo Delano got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pío Picarte in the 86th minute of play forced Contuy AFC's goalkeeper Rómulo Erazo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Lincay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jose Ramon Villamayor fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Orlín Rivadeneira's late challenge caught a Lincay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Orlín Rivadeneira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th minute, Orlín Rivadeneira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Farren couldn't finish the play. Lincay's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
