Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gregorio Sales started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd match minute, Lincay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarías Raffo to maneuver through the defense. 7 minutes into the match, cartagonova's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarías Raffo came free, but Romelio Potts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Ariano Triviño had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Xavi Apaulaza fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored cartagonova's protests and gave Xavi Apaulaza a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to cartagonova getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Xavi Apaulaza hit a great ball. After 11 played minutes, Lincay's Rodrigo Farren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Romelio Potts came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lincay reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarías Raffo in the 12th minute of play forced cartagonova's goalkeeper Romelio Potts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 13th minute of the match Xavi Apaulaza completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Xavi Apaulaza a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 14 played minutes cartagonova got a freekick which was hit by Xavi Apaulaza. 21 minutes into the match, Gregorio Sales had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Romelio Potts. cartagonova's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gregorio Sales was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in cartagonova's zone, Rodrigo Farren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romelio Potts came out of the goal and Rodrigo Farren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th minute, Gervasio Abascal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ariano Triviño sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Víctor Javier Rossel made in the 39th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by cartagonova's Juan Luis Walker. In the 40th minute Pío Picarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romelio Potts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. cartagonova's Romelio Potts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gregorio Sales in the 44th minute of play. Gervasio Abascal kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Lincay were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ariano Triviño made a kick off. Romelio Potts made an important save on a dangerous shot by Uriel Chavarria in the 53rd minute. In the 54th play minute Pío Picarte came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Romelio Potts. 0-3. Pío Picarte received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Romelio Potts came out and tried to block the shot, but Pío Picarte slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 59th minute. 67 minutes into the game, one of cartagonova:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Rodrigo Farren shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zacarías Raffo in the 70th minute of play forced cartagonova's goalkeeper Romelio Potts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The throw-in from Víctor Javier Rossel in the 73rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by cartagonova's Juan Luis Walker. Romelio Potts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Sales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th minute Gregorio Sales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romelio Potts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, cartagonova's Romelio Potts got control of the ball when Uriel Chavarria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pío Picarte recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
