The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benito Riquelme during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fabricio Dagnino came out of the goal and Peio Corral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Infernillo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Ángel Escalante came free, but Fabricio Dagnino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabricio Dagnino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peio Corral in the 13th minute. A collision led to Infernillo AFC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Emiliano Coloma hit a great ball. Fabricio Dagnino made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Peio Corral sent off a good shot on target. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro José Elgueta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Filipo Montenegro's late challenge caught a Infernillo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Infernillo AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
