Pemuco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nauzet Rioseco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 11th minute, Peio Jaña ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Danél Alzola was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Varrillar's Pablo Ancavil got a free kick in the 16th minute. Peio Jaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Danél Alzola having to interfere. The supporters of Varrillar booed when Pemuco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Lagos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Mac Donald took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Raimundo Murdoch. Pemuco's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Danél Alzola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Peio Jaña's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. Valerio Burgos hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Valerio Burgos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute of the match Norberto Farne sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Danél Alzola skillfully saved the ball. With an all-out effort, Varrillar's Raimundo Murdoch threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Alesandro Artaño, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Odín Fajardo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Danél Alzola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odín Fajardo in the 55th minute of the match. After 57 played minutes Varrillar got a freekick which was hit by Clemente Anfruns. 58 minutes in the game Norberto Farne got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. Nauzet Rioseco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Raimundo Murdoch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgilio Brieba, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Varrillar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Odín Fajardo scored to the left of an out of position Danél Alzola, making the score, 1-2. If Odín Fajardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peio Jaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Varrillar's goal looked a bit too open when Odín Fajardo came free, but Danél Alzola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Peio Jaña got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Peio Jaña sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 97 minutes, Virgilio Brieba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varrillar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgilio Brieba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
