Manuel Antonio Villagrán took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdón Zurieta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abelardo Achondo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Juan Cristóbal Marholz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Cristián Paillao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Hospital's goal looked a bit too open when Abdón Zurieta came free, but Manuel Antonio Villagrán reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abdón Zurieta in the 25th minute of play forced Hospital's goalkeeper Manuel Antonio Villagrán to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Amador Swett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Antonio Villagrán saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Achondo came free with the goalkeeper in the 28th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Cristián Paillao could save by the left post. The tension between the Hospital and the Coquimbo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hospital booed when Coquimbo AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaume Klickmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Coquimbo AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Achondo came free, but Cristián Paillao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 69th minute, Abelardo Achondo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Coquimbo AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amador Swett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristián Paillao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abelardo Achondo in the 93rd minute of the match. Cristián Paillao came out of the goal in the 97th minute to try and stop a shot by Hospital's Abelardo Achondo. But to his dismay, Abelardo Achondo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Coquimbo AFC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
