Eber Caticura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Samuel Paillao made a huge save. The referee ignored Minilla FC's protests and gave Lolo Antoine a yellow card for diving instead. With his leg Samuel Paillao managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Minilla FC's Eber Caticura fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Andoni Rochefort received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Severiano Halat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Minilla FC's Samuel Paillao threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Inocente Mann, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 24 minutes, Eber Caticura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minilla FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eber Caticura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Horcon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inocente Mann came free, but Samuel Paillao reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Severiano Halat showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andoni Rochefort, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Virgilio Allison's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severiano Halat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eber Caticura got free with Samuel Paillao in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 42 minutes into the match, Minilla FC's Inocente Mann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Paillao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Bertrán Picado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andoni Rochefort was the one to do the kick off. After 63 minutes, Bertrán Picado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Horcon FC and the Minilla FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Inocente Mann took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Paillao. Severiano Halat made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Virgilio Allison sent off a good shot on target. Virgilio Allison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Severiano Halat having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Horcon FC got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Rosa. Eber Caticura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Samuel Paillao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eber Caticura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. For all the effort they put into the match, the Horcon FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Minilla FC.
