Reces Mahotiere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the game, Loreto Berecedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Llicaldad FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Copiapo FC the free kick. When Copiapo FC's Reces Mahotiere in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Llicaldad FC's goalie prevented a goal. If Martino Urriola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltazar Mahns hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Fulco Gómez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benito Melo, passed just outside the right post. Fulco Gómez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute, Fulco Gómez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fulco Gómez might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Melo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fulco Gómez ran back to his position shaking his head. Reces Mahotiere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Melo having to interfere. Copiapo FC's Feliciano Acasuso got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Tancredo Barainca made a precise shot to the right of Eriberto Oses. Copiapo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 43rd minute, Loreto Berecedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Melo was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Marcos Francisco Farreras. The Copiapo FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Llicaldad FC were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tancredo Barainca to make the kick off. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Llicaldad FC's goalkeeper Benito Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fulco Gómez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Benito Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Melo came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Copiapo FC's Reces Mahotiere. But to his dismay, Reces Mahotiere quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Reces Mahotiere fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Melo having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Llicaldad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Yevenez to maneuver through the defense. If Tancredo Barainca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reces Mahotiere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Reces Mahotiere had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Melo. Llicaldad FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reces Mahotiere was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reces Mahotiere in the 90th minute of play forced Llicaldad FC's goalkeeper Benito Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Copiapo FC! After having played for 98 minutes, Reces Mahotiere managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Copiapo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reces Mahotiere was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
