The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rubén Mowat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcel Gattini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amado Catalá during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Marcel Gattini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palquin's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcel Gattini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ulises Livingstone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 12 minutes into the match, Pissis AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcel Gattini came free, but Ulises Livingstone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Marcelo Martini received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pierre Arriaza came out and tried to block the shot, but José Marcelo Martini slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. José Marcelo Martini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Niceto Borghi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pissis AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Borghi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre Arriaza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. José Marcelo Martini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Pierre Arriaza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Horacio Dietert kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Pissis AFC's Raimundo Lermanda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When Horacio Dietert came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Palquin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Horacio Dietert couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Marcelo Martini in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pierre Arriaza saved Palquin from getting behind. In the 42nd minute, Horacio Dietert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If José Marcelo Martini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Palquin's Leandro Mascayano got a free kick in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, Pissis AFC's Raimundo Lermanda broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Pierre Arriaza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 93rd minute Rubén Mowat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ulises Livingstone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pissis AFC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Armando Canavesio hit a great ball.
