With a little luck, Tolar AFC's Orlín Zunino got control of the ball when Silviano Maccioni tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 4th minute, Damián Joglar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Silviano Maccioni had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silviano Maccioni could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Orlín Zunino made a huge save. Justo Polo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Orlín Zunino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th match minute, Tolar AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eladio Raglianti to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Martín Demanet shot from long distance in the 21st minute, but Orlín Zunino was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Silviano Maccioni struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Orlín Zunino didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coquimbo Unido. The supporters of Tolar AFC booed when Coquimbo Unido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Martín Demanet didn't get a good kick on the ball. Darien Marraccini struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Renato Bonvallet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tolar AFC. Orlín Zunino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Polo in the 35th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tolar AFC's zone, Silviano Maccioni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orlín Zunino came out of the goal and Silviano Maccioni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Justo Polo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Orlín Zunino was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. The supporters of Tolar AFC booed when Coquimbo Unido was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Mac Rostie didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henrico Reynero made a kick off. Renato Bonvallet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henrico Reynero in the 51st minute of play. After having played for 52 minutes, Henrico Reynero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tolar AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Henrico Reynero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 54 played minutes Coquimbo Unido got a freekick which was hit by Tamariz Abella. Henrico Reynero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renato Bonvallet having to make a save. Darien Marraccini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tolar AFC's goalkeeper Orlín Zunino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 69 minutes, Justo Polo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coquimbo Unido and the Tolar AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 72nd minute, Justo Polo made a precise shot to the right of Orlín Zunino. Tolar AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silviano Maccioni in the 77th minute of play forced Tolar AFC's goalkeeper Orlín Zunino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute, Justo Polo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Coquimbo Unido fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The Coquimbo Unido fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Coquimbo Unido's Justo Polo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Darien Marraccini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
