François Blackmon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilton Tracy having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Lindsay Staples cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Emerson Walter was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. François Blackmon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilton Tracy having to interfere. Bradly McGee charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bradly McGee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Dundee United FC SC booed when Matapedia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bradly McGee didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute, one of Dundee United FC SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dundee United FC SC. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Matapedia. Virgil Breton stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Emerson Walter. 2-1. In the 27th minute, Matapedia's Gaston Boyce dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Mack Guy scored 3-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hilton Tracy, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Mack Guy made a precise shot to the right of Hilton Tracy. Matapedia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Emerson Walter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaston Boyce, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Dundee United FC SC's zone, Theodore Metz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emerson Walter came out of the goal and Theodore Metz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lindsay Staples sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 49 minutes, Rayford Davenport managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dundee United FC SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rayford Davenport was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaston Boyce stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mack Guy was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Bradly McGee kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Gaston Boyce struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Emerson Walter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matapedia. After a rather tough play, Matapedia's Gaston Boyce got a free kick in the 59th minute. 64 minutes into the match, Dundee United FC SC's goal looked a bit too open when Lindsay Staples came free, but Emerson Walter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dundee United FC SC's Emerson Walter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaston Boyce in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Dundee United FC SC's Rayford Davenport ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hilton Tracy. Hilton Tracy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mack Guy in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hilton Tracy saved Matapedia from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Matapedia's zone, François Blackmon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hilton Tracy came out of the goal and François Blackmon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rayford Davenport in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hilton Tracy, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gaston Boyce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Matapedia's Lindsay Staples in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dundee United FC SC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 81st minute, Rayford Davenport hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 84th minute, Lindsay Staples made a precise shot to the right of Emerson Walter. Dundee United FC SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-4. In the 87th minute, Lindsay Staples left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matapedia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-4. 90 minutes into the game, Mack Guy recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hilton Tracy. Mack Guy showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-5. The audience was convinced that Rayford Davenport's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilton Tracy was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
