In the 4th minute, Iréné McQueen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walton Moore took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerold Goulet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thad Dick during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thad Dick kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. With a little luck, Simcoe FC's Walton Moore got control of the ball when Leland Trejo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Eric Siegel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th match minute, Simcoe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Glenn to maneuver through the defense. Tracy Bélanger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claude Kay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23rd play minutes Claude Kay shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Tracy Bélanger and just under the crossbar into goal. If Claude Kay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leland Trejo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Walton Moore 30 minutes into the match. 39 minutes into the match, Claude Kay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tracy Bélanger. MTL Impact's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claude Kay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After having played for 45 minutes, Claude Kay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Simcoe FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Kay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leland Trejo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Walton Moore made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leland Trejo made a kick off. Thad Dick could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Tracy Bélanger made a huge save. In the 54th match minute, MTL Impact was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alejandro Spears to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claude Kay got free with Tracy Bélanger in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Claude Kay who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Tracy Bélanger when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 60th minute, MTL Impact's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Claude Kay fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Claude Kay's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Tracy Bélanger skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With his leg Tracy Bélanger managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Simcoe FC's Claude Kay fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 68 minutes into the match, Eric Siegel dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tracy Bélanger, 1-3. Sal Ratté scored 2-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Walton Moore, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Claude Kay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Simcoe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Claude Kay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tracy Bélanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to MTL Impact getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Edgard Brandon hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Simcoe FC's Thad Dick got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 87th minute, Claude Kay fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The supporters of Simcoe FC booed when MTL Impact was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgard Brandon didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Spears in the 91st minute of play forced Simcoe FC's goalkeeper Walton Moore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claude Kay's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tracy Bélanger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Claude Kay struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tracy Bélanger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Simcoe FC. Claude Kay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Tracy Bélanger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
