In the 4th minute of the match Juninho Freire shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Agnaldo Amorim showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After having played for 7 minutes, Raúl Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tapuruquara AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raúl Tinoco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raúl Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute, Chiquinho Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dorian Pereira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Sampaio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Raúl Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Amorim having to interfere. Mombuca SS's Dorian Pereira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dorian Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raúl Tinoco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agnaldo Amorim having to interfere.

Erik Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Cearense, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute Tiago Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dorian Pereira scored 1-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Sampaio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 69th minute, Humberto Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tapuruquara AD's Erik Carvalho got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mombuca SS's Humberto Prata got a free kick in the 73rd minute. If Erik Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mombuca SS's Agnaldo Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Mombuca SS from getting a goal against them. In the 78th minute, Erik Carvalho fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. In the 85th minute, Mombuca SS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Erik Carvalho fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 87th minute Tiago Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Sampaio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Sampaio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Cearense in the 88th minute of the match. When Tibúrcio Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tapuruquara AD's protests and gave Tibúrcio Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mombuca SS booed when Tapuruquara AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tibúrcio Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mombuca SS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudinho Couto in the 92nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mombuca SS had won after a very even match.
