The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimundo de Amaral to make the kick off. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Submarino Amarelo reached it. 86 minutes into the match, Lourenço Antunes notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Ipupiara FC's Renan das Neves. Renan das Neves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Patrício Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute.
