The supporters of Urubucu booed when Independiente Sporte Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Paulo Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Pedro Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Osmar Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rafael de Andrade read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Rafael de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Mandrak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Manoel Garcia fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Urubucu's protests and gave Manoel Garcia a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Urubucu's Manoel Garcia got a free kick in the 21st minute. João Paulo Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardinho Figueiredo in the 25th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osmar Vale got free with Rafael de Andrade in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Osmar Vale made a kick off. Bernardinho Figueiredo didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Pedro Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but João Paulo Reis made a huge save. In the 72nd minute Valdemar Brodel suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Independiente Sporte Club's José Augusto Donato was substituted for Valdemar Brodel. A collision led to Urubucu getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Manoel Garcia hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Independiente Sporte Club's Paulo José Leite got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Osmar Vale ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rafael de Andrade was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Independiente Sporte Club succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Urubucu had controlled the match.
