Amadeu Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Ciro Furlan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Fabiano Simão got free with Ciro Furlan in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute of the match Rui Batista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Furlan showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Luiz Fabiano Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Parente played a much better game than Velho Barreiro FC and deserved their victory. The Velho Barreiro FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
