The referee felt a red card was in order, 18 minutes into the game, when Hermínio Linares put in a rough tackle. The wind increased when Haroldo Hoffmann made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Alberto de Toledo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Meireles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Mendes made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Haroldo Hoffmann sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 54 minutes, Dino da Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lorenz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dino da Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Alberto de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Simões in the 58th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Haroldo Hoffmann could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Nilson Mendes however easily saved by the left post. Haroldo Hoffmanns short, quick shot in the 65thth minute got Nilson Mendes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Manuel Palmeira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lorenz's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Palmeira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Acegua's Nilson Mendes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Acegua from getting a goal against them. In the 73rd minute, Manuel Palmeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Haroldo Hoffmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, Acegua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Meireles to maneuver through the defense. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
