Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lenílson Simões started the match with the kick off. After a rather tough play, Ascencao's Simão Matorin got a free kick in the 3rd minute. After 6 minutes of play, Acegua's Patrick Meireles made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Willian Valladares was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lenílson Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Valladares having to interfere. If Patrick Meireles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 13 minutes into the match, Ascencao's goalkeeper Willian Valladares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Meireles. Patrick Meireles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Willian Valladares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Lenílson Simões dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Willian Valladares, 2-0. Nilson Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Josué Nogueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Nogueira in the 22nd minute of the match. When Ascencao's Cléber das Neves in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Acegua's goalie prevented a goal. In the 32nd match minute, Ascencao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Fontes to maneuver through the defense. Willian Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 35 minutes, Patrick Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Acegua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Adriano Novaes charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adriano Novaes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Ascencao got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Novaes. Lenílson Simõess short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Willian Valladares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Patrick Meireles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Willian Valladares made a huge save. Patrick Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Valladares having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Acegua's zone, Cléber das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson Mendes came out of the goal and Cléber das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cléber das Neves made a kick off. Ascencao's Josué Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55thth minute of the game Lenílson Simões who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ascencao's Willian Valladares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 58 minutes in the game, Cléber das Neves fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Nilson Mendes having to interfere. In the 60th minute Patrick Meireles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willian Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the game, Cipriano Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ascencao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acegua the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ascencao's Adriano Novaes got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Patrick Meireles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lenílson Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Willian Valladares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Willian Valladares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lenílson Simões's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. Patrick Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cléber das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leandro Medeiros's late challenge caught a Ascencao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leandro Medeiros helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Acegua fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 76th minute. Penalty! Cléberson Araújo shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Willian Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 82 played minutes Ascencao got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Rosa. Ascencao's Willian Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Meireles in the 89th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Lenílson Simões's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Willian Valladares was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Lenílson Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Acegua's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willian Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
