After 3 minutes, Deivid Proença mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sander E.C. and the Ipanore EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 2nd minute, one of Sander E.C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sander E.C.. In the 7th minute Ipanore EC were awarded a corner. Laércio Guerra went to the cornerflag to take it. Rony Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Paulo Motta in the 12th minute of play. Sander E.C.'s Toninho Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Paulo Netto in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute João Paulo Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toninho Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, João Paulo Netto made a precise shot to the right of Toninho Gonçalves. Sander E.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. João Paulo Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruninho Velloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rony Maia having to interfere. When Umberto Barral fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipanore EC's protests and gave Umberto Barral a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ipanore EC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Umberto Barral hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Sander E.C.'s Yan Perez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, José Paulo Motta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sander E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but José Paulo Motta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had been going on for 42 minutes, Sander E.C.'s Yan Perez got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rony Maia. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Paulo Netto to strike the kick off in the second half. Toninho Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Sander E.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after João Paulo Netto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 57 minutes, Lucas Sabóia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ipanore EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Sabóia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rodriguinho Negri hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 60th minute, Laércio Guerra sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sander E.C.'s Toninho Gonçalves didn't even have to move. In the 62nd minute, João Paulo Netto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 63rd match minute, Sander E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yan Perez to maneuver through the defense. When Yan Perez was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Sander E.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ipanore EC:s goal. 78 minutes into the match, João Paulo Netto notched a goal, 2-3, to the right of Sander E.C.'s Toninho Gonçalves. Toninho Gonçalves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Bruninho Velloso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. João Paulo Netto might have been able to make a better finish in the 89th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toninho Gonçalves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Paulo Netto ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Sander E.C. booed when Ipanore EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laércio Guerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ipanore EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
