Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Arnaldo do Valle kicked off to start the match. After 8 played minutes Capecu SS got a freekick which was hit by Clemente da Mata. If Giuseppe França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo do Valle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 24th match minute, Melancias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donatello Luz to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Melancias's Deivid Antunes got a free kick in the 31st minute. Arnaldo do Valle struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Jeremias Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Capecu SS. 38 minutes into the match, Capecu SS's goal looked a bit too open when Giuseppe França came free, but Ricardo Motta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Franklin da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Capecu SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Giuseppe França blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Motta having to make a save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Didi Massa to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Chiquinho Esteves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Capecu SS and the Melancias players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Capecu SS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Chiquinho Esteves hit a great ball. Capecu SS's Arnaldo do Valle got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeremias Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnaldo do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo do Valle in the 59th minute of the match. The supporters of Capecu SS booed when Melancias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Franklin da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capecu SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Franklin da Cunha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeremias Mattos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 played minutes Melancias got a freekick which was hit by Duarte de Amorim. Jeremias Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin da Cunha in the 81st minute of play. Didi Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Ricardo Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the game, Waldir Hames was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Melancias's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Capecu SS the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 85th minute of the game. One of Melancias:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Capecu SS:s goal. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Capecu SS's goalkeeper Ricardo Motta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Franklin da Cunha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Arnaldo do Valle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that Capecu SS were the better team. Capecu SS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
