Gonçalo Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Batista AD's goalkeeper Nildo Vander had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adrianinho Valladares. Hélio da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho do Vale in the 10th minute of play. Dieguinho do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hélio da Cunha having to interfere. Gonçalo Maranhense might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélio da Cunha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gonçalo Maranhense ran back to his position shaking his head. Hélio da Cunha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonçalo Maranhense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dieguinho do Vale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hélio da Cunha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Ezequiel Magalhães sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 26 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Freguesia's Adrianinho Valladares fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. 32 minutes into the game, Adrianinho Valladares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Freguesia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Batista AD the free kick. The supporters of Batista AD booed when Freguesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrianinho Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Maranhense in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hélio da Cunha saved Freguesia from getting behind. After some careless play in the Freguesia defense, Dieguinho do Vale kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hélio da Cunha. The Freguesia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélio da Cunha should have stopped the shot.

When Dieguinho do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Batista AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dieguinho do Vale couldn't finish the play. Hélio da Cunha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dieguinho do Vale's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. When the match was over Batista AD could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Freguesia throughout the match.
