In the 2nd match minute, Republica AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Seco to maneuver through the defense. Reinaldo Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If João Augusto Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raphael Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Vasco-DF's Raphael Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Vasco-DF from getting a goal against them. Adelino Gaúcho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raphael Gonçalves having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Hermes in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raphael Gonçalves saved Vasco-DF from getting behind. With his leg Raphael Gonçalves managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Republica AD's Adelino Gaúcho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 39 minutes, Raphael Gonçalves successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Raphael Gonçalves was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Adelino Gaúcho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 42 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Augusto Dias to strike the kick off in the second half. João Augusto Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evaristo Medeiros having to interfere. Lucas Hermes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Raphael Gonçalves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Republica AD's Adelino Gaúcho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raphael Gonçalves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Adelino Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Republica AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adelino Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. If Adelino Gaúcho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score was 1-1 after a penalty in the 79th minute, where Vasco-DF:s Giovani Lara tricked Republica AD:s Evaristo Medeiros with a difficult ball by the left post. Adelino Gaúcho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Republica AD's Lucas Hermes managed to work through Vasco-DF's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Lucas Hermes dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Raphael Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Hermes in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute Adelino Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphael Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vasco-DF's Raphael Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Gaúcho in the 98th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Republica AD players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
